Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox Reveal Big Changes in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio shared some exciting news about ‘Daredevil: Born Again’. At first, the show wasn’t supposed to connect with the original Netflix series. But after a creative overhaul, it now includes a lot of crossovers.
Cox mentioned that keeping balance between the old and new was important. He joked about his own physical struggles, saying, ‘My knees are a little bit more sore. My back and neck are struggling a little bit, but they’ll have to pry it off me at some point.’ D’Onofrio quickly added, ‘He’s still flying all over the place like an acrobat. He’s incredible.’
The actors confirmed that ‘Born Again’ will keep many elements fans loved from the original. D’Onofrio said, ‘It originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot.’ Cox agreed, mentioning a lot of crossover. There are hints that original stars like Deborah Ann Woll, Jon Bernthal, Elden Henson, and Ayelet Zurer might return.
Cox believes the changes are partly due to the fans. He said, ‘I think [it’s] the fans. I think [it’s] the studio as well.’ Striking a balance was key for the remake. ‘If you’re going to remake a show and call it Season 1 and it was a successful show and it was kind of beloved, then you’ve got to do what people liked. But also you’ve got to have a reason for remaking it. So you have to change it up a bit. And that’s just a really fine balance to find,’ Cox explained.
Cox is confident the team found that balance. ‘I think that they’ve done a beautiful job doing that. And hopefully, the old fans – the O.G.s – will love it and also, we’ll maybe pick up a few more fans on the way.’ When asked about where their characters will be in the new show, Cox simply smiled and said, ‘Nothing.”
Daredevil: Born Again’ is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. We are excited to see what this new chapter brings.
