We Missed Out On The Best ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Variant
The movie ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ left out what could have been the coolest cameo, Wolverinepool. Although Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds brought several variants of their characters to life, Wolverinepool didn’t make the cut. This character mixes Deadpool’s humor with Wolverine’s toughness, featuring in the comics as Wade Wilson with an Adamantium skeleton.
Recently, David Masson San Gabriel shared concept art of Wolverinepool on Instagram, showing what we missed. I think he would have been a great addition, especially since the movie explores the dynamics between Reynolds’ Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine. It’s a pity we didn’t see him.
The film did dive into the multiverse, bringing us an array of Deadpools and Wolverines. While Jackman took on most of the Wolverine roles, other actors stepped in for different variants.
The film included appearances from Henry Cavill as another Wolverine and Chris Evans returning as Johnny Storm. We also saw Dafne Keen as X-23 and Wesley Snipes reprising his role as Blade in ‘The Resistance in the Void,’ which allowed more time with multiverse characters.
An exciting part of the multiverse exploration was the introduction of the Deadpool Corps. Speculation had been buzzing about how many Deadpool variants would show up. The biggest surprise was supposed to be Taylor Swift as Ladypool, but in the end, Blake Lively provided her voice.
I wish Hugh Jackman wasn’t the only face for Wolverine variants, though. Mixing it up more could have added a fresh twist. Also, the movie hinted at more surprises like Wolverinepool who could have spiced things up. His absence was a missed opportunity.
Looking forward, there’s still a chance for these missed characters to appear. A sequel could open up possibilities for bringing more unique variants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Let’s hope they consider bringing some of these characters back for more multiverse fun.
