Marvel Fans Unhappy with Ben Affleck Casting Rumors for Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom is set to be cast in the upcoming months. Marvel Studios has been gradually revealing the cast for their Fantastic Four reboot.

The main cast was announced in February. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing.

Additional cast members have been revealed slowly, including Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Ralph Ineson, and Natasha Lyonne.

The next character to be announced is rumored to be Doctor Doom. Toby Kebbell previously played the antagonist in the 2015 remake, while Julian McMahon took on the role in the original 2005 film.

Speculation over who should play Doctor Doom is already stirring. Rumors suggest Mads Mikkelsen, Cillian Murphy, and Ben Affleck might be in the running. Many of us favor Murphy and Mikkelsen for the role. Some believe Affleck doesn’t quite fit the meticulous character.

People on X are sharing their thoughts on these casting choices. One user said, ‘If Cillian is Dr. Doom, this will go down in history as one of the best Marvel movies of all time.’ Another said, ‘God please don’t choose Ben Affleck! It has to be Mad Mikkelsen! He’s perfect for the role.’

However, some fans note that Mikkelsen has already been part of the MCU as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange. Although the MCU has reprised actors for different roles before, like Chris Evans who played in the first Fantastic Four films before becoming Captain America.

The Fantastic Four is set to release on July 25, 2025.
