Shocking Allegations Surface Following ‘X-Men ’97’ Creator’s Firing

Marvel Studios recently terminated Beau DeMayo, the creator of ‘X-Men ’97’, just before the show’s debut on Disney+. His firing followed great reviews for the show, sparking questions about what happened behind the scenes.

DeMayo claimed that Marvel removed his name from all Season 2 scripts of ‘X-Men ’97’ after he posted about Gay Pride on Instagram in June. Marvel responded by stating his firing was due to findings from an internal investigation that were ‘egregious’.

Journalist Jeff Sneider has shared rumors from sources about why DeMayo was let go. It is said that DeMayo sent nude and semi-nude photos of himself in ‘hero’ poses to some younger male staff, suggesting they could use these for ‘inspiration’ in the series. Even after being asked to stop, he reportedly continued.

Additionally, he is accused of groping an assistant multiple times and being both physically and emotionally abusive to the team. These behaviors reportedly also contributed to his earlier dismissal from ‘The Witcher’, although these claims remain unconfirmed.

Since DeMayo’s departure, no one from the staff or cast of ‘X-Men ’97’ has defended him, suggesting the allegations may be serious. This is unlike Marvel’s previous approach, where they waited for legal proceedings, as seen with Jonathan Majors.

It took a while for these details to emerge. Marvel and DeMayo seemed to have an agreement to keep the reasons for his firing quiet. Only when DeMayo started discussing the series on social media did Marvel feel compelled to defend their decision publicly.

DeMayo had previously worked on popular series like ‘The Witcher’ and ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’. His recent success with ‘X-Men ’97’ could have led to more opportunities, potentially putting others at risk if these allegations are true. This raises concerns about how such issues are handled in the entertainment industry and whether they are sometimes covered up.
