Batman has a new Robin, and her name is Maps Mizoguchi. This exciting development unfolds in ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold #12’, crafted by Karl Kerschl. The story catches up with Bruce Wayne as he battles a vampire outbreak in Gotham, with a touch of romance that’s doomed to fail.

Maps is no stranger to us; she’s been around, sometimes seen as Robin in various tales, though her role wasn’t always clear in DC’s bigger picture. Now, it’s official. As Bruce leaves Gotham behind, he confirms that Maps will stay, watching over those affected by the plague and honing her skills under the name ‘Robin’.

Her journey began in ‘Gotham Academy’, where she quickly caught our attention with her love for superheroes and knack for solving mysteries. Created by the talented trio of Becky Cloonan, Brendan Fletcher, and Karl Kerschl, Maps first appeared as a student immersed in the Academy’s chaos and later, played a pivotal role during the ‘We Are Robin’ event.

In the current ‘Birds of Prey’ series, an older Maps from a darker future joins the team as Meridian. She brings a high-tech suit linked to The Green, adding a fresh dynamic to her character.

Back to ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold #12’, Batman and Maps wrap up their adventure at Gotham Academy. This final issue not only ties up loose ends but also intersects with other intriguing stories in the DC universe, like Artemis’s ongoing quest and Lois Lane’s investigative pursuits against the backdrop of ‘The Hunt’, a deadly real-world game.

And if you love comic art, don’t miss the latest from ‘Batman: Black & White’, featuring the iconic work of Charlie Adlard of ‘The Walking Dead’ fame.

This new chapter for Maps as Robin is not just about carrying on a legacy; it’s about making it her own. Grab your copy of ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold #12’ and join her as she steps into the light, ready to protect Gotham in her unique way. We’re excited to see where she takes us next.
