Giancarlo Esposito has confirmed his participation in an upcoming Marvel project. The announcement came during a panel at CCXP’s Thunder Stage, where he shared that he would not be playing Professor X, as some fans had speculated. Instead, Esposito hinted at a role that would be ‘better than you can imagine,’ although details remain under wraps.

There’s been some talk about whether he might appear in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the only Marvel film confirmed for this year. Yet, considering the packed schedule of Marvel’s releases planned through 2025, including big titles like ‘Blade,’ ‘Fantastic Four,’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ and ‘Thunderbolts,’ it seems more likely we’ll see him in one of these future projects.

Esposito is well known for his compelling portrayals of complex characters, such as the notorious Gus Fring in ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul,’ roles that have earned him critical acclaim and several Emmy nominations. He’s also recognized for his performance as Moff Gideon in ‘The Mandalorian,’ and he’s set to reprise his role as Stan Edgar in the upcoming season of ‘The Boys’ on Prime Video.

The excitement about his entry into the Marvel universe is quite high. We’ve seen Esposito bring a unique intensity to his characters, whether it’s on the streets of Albuquerque or the far reaches of the galaxy in ‘The Mandalorian.’ Whatever Marvel character he’s set to play, it’s bound to be thrilling.
